RGSFC1000
This one was bought as an RGS with various nice bits including SFC1000 swingarm, forks and tank, super-trick Brembos, high comp pistons and a 3-1. Nice parts but the stripped down look and lots of battleship grey powdercoating did not really appeal to the new owner.
Here's the bike as purchased in 2003:
A quick mainly cosmetic rebuild followed; RGS footpegs and sidecovers returned, an SFC1K fairing fitted, a custom instrument panel made, lots of polishing and a respray into a very nice understated silver-grey. The engine got a set of Mikuni CV carbs and an IIS ignition system but other than a service and new chains was left alone. Modern switchgear was added and some electrical repairs carried out, while more rational clips ons were sourced, slightly shorter shocks fitted, and side/centrestands modified to make it more manageable for it's lady owner.
Shortly after, it was ridden around Australia by my better half Christiane, covering close to 20,000km in less than eight weeks. Try that with a 20 year old Ducati!
